The agreement signed by the two companies confirms the collaboration towards building 5 MW of photovoltaic systems in Puglia and starting the development of additional installations already completing the authorization process in both Puglia and Sicily, for a total of about 30 systems.
In Turin, on Friday, 21 November, Pangea Green Energy and 9REN Group signed the agreement and established the joint venture dedicated to building, as a first step, 5 photovoltaic systems in Puglia, 1MW each, with an investment of about € 24 million. Other systems in the authorization process will be added to these five, for a total of about 30MW in projects in Puglia, Sicily, and other regions. The systems in Puglia, whose preliminary design and authorization phases were led successfully by Pangea Green Energy, will be built in the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce, and Taranto.
At Puglia’s sites, Spanish will also be spoken: according to the agreement, the systems will be built by Gamesa Solar, the 9REN Group’s company that is among Spain’s leading contractors in the photovoltaic and solar thermal sector.
Committed to producing and selling electric energy from such renewable sources as photovoltaic, wind, and biogas from municipal waste in Italy and abroad, Turin’s Pangea Green Energy S.r.l. is the only Italian company in the small-business category that has routed the field of European competition – 32 companies from 13 European countries – by winning the prestigious 2008 European Emas Awards. The Emas Awards are held each year by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Development, with Emas-certified companies vying for accolades. Since 2006, Pangea has seen non-stop growth, with constant investment of resources to become a competitive and reliable reference for an increasingly environmentally-aware public. Wind projects for 250MW on the Italian islands, two wind farms under construction, the photovoltaic projects, two municipal waste biogas systems in Italy and three under development, and a system in the Philippines applying the Kyoto Protocol: these are Pangea’s main achievements to date. www.pangeagreen.biz
